A bit of us on your site?

Hello lovely people, we have every reason to think that Book 1 of the Hopeless Main saga will be out to buy in print by Yuletide. (amazon says November)

We need to get the word out.

In the same time frame, Nimue’s new non-fic, Druidry and the Ancestors is also coming out.

If you are willing to help spread the word (hello minions!) leave us a message or drop us a line. If there’s somewhere you can post a link or make encouraging noises… you will be doing us the most stupendous favour. The graphic novel is close enough to the webcomic that you can realistically post reviews of the one based on the other (with all due reference to goodreads, amazon and the like.)

If you have a blog, website, magazine, or anything else and you would like a thing from us, yell now. It doesn’t matter how small your readership is, we would be VERY glad to write you a piece if it gives us scope to mention the books. If you’d like something original from us for your site, please give us a shout.

Minions: Now recruiting

When we met Dr Geof in Lincoln, we were overcome by minion-envy. So, we’re having a recruitment drive! Qualities we are particularly interested in, along with minion-perks are listed below. If you recognise yourself as a perfect minion, please do give us your email address, and your rough geographical location (nearest city) if we don’t know you personally, so that we can call you up when we’re going to be in your area. Currently we’re UK based, but if you’re further afield, feel free to massage our egos by letting us fantasises about world tours….

The biggest requirement is that you like what we do, fancy hanging out with us at events and would love to be helpful in some way. Positions of indispensible minionhood are available. Otherwise…

1) Can you put us up at events?

2) Are you willing to help get us from train stations to venues (we don’t have a car)?

3) Would you like to come and help look after the stall to cover us while we’re doing talks/panels/loo breaks/unconsciousness etc.?

4) Are you overwhelmed by an urge to ply us with beer, coffee, or cake?

5) Do you have a really evil laugh?

6) Could you bring along a whole bunch of people with money if we were doing a book signing?

7) Would you talk to the person who runs things where you are, to get us booked, so that we can come and sleep on your sofa and eat your cake?

8) Did we mention cake?

9) Have you got some other really cool thing that you would like to embroil us in, where cake is likely to feature?

10) Also, we are quite partial to cake.

What we can offer minions is going to vary depending on where we are, what we’re doing… where possible and appropriate, we might for example be able to get you event tickets as an offset for minionwork. Obviously you get the pleasure of our frequently confused and eccentric company. We will probably give you stuff. Depending a lot on what stuff we actually have.

Splendid stuff

Our lovely chum Professor Elemental is doing a contest for the cover of his next album. The temptation to draw an orang-utan butler was too great! And so, while contests are not normally a thing Tom gets embroiled in (touting to publishers and making comics being plenty time consuming enough) this one, was too much fun to miss.

Boldly going forward, with tentacles

Hello lovely people.
That last page was, as you might have noticed, the end of Book 2. There is a book 3 in the offing. We are not intending to do it as a webcomic though. Not least because, with this whole living on a narrowboat thing, getting 2 pages up a week has been really hard for us.
However, we will be keeping the content coming, it’s just that the shape of it will change. As promised, there are new stories afoot, and there will be illustrations. We also anticipate sharing fan art (if you send it, we have 1 glorious bit already) news, goodies and stuff. We’re going to be out doing events, and we are collaborating with some very exciting people, so, please stay with us, because in many ways, this is just the beginning.
In the meantime, I’ll repeat a previous offer – if there are back stores you want to see, characters or settings you want more about then leave a comment, and if I can, I’ll do you something and post it here.
